Upon arrival, they discovered 77-year-old Kayla Ford inside her Chevy Cruze, unable to exit the vehicle due to the damage sustained in the crash.
Emergency responders from the Hinckley Fire Department worked to extricate Ford from the wrecked car before she was transported to Valley West Hospital in Sandwich for initial treatment. Due to the severity of her injuries, she was later airlifted via LifeFlight to St. Anthony’s Hospital in Rockford. Sadly, Ford was pronounced dead shortly after her arrival.
