Jerome Bowens Obituary, Death – A fatal crash in Gloversville on Friday night claimed the life of a motorcyclist. The accident occurred around 9:28 p.m. at the intersection of Broad Street and Fifth Street, prompting an immediate response from local police and emergency services.

The motorcyclist, identified as 30-year-old Jerome Bowens from the Town of Johnstown, was found unconscious when first responders arrived at the scene. Despite resuscitation efforts by the Gloversville Fire Department and Lake Valley EMS, Bowens was pronounced dead at the scene due to the severity of his injuries.

The crash involved Bowens’ motorcycle and an SUV. The driver of the SUV was not injured in the collision and has been fully cooperating with investigators, authorities said.

According to a preliminary report from law enforcement, the SUV was heading north on Broad Street and was making a left turn onto Fifth Street. At the same time, Bowens attempted to overtake another vehicle traveling behind the SUV and then tried to pass the SUV itself. During the maneuver, Bowens’ motorcycle struck the rear driver’s side of the turning SUV, leading to the deadly collision.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash and are working to determine whether any additional factors contributed to the accident.
