The incident took place around 10:36 a.m., prompting a call for assistance from the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office to Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 4. The crash occurred on Grayson Springs Road near Clarkson, specifically in the 6000 block, according to the details shared in a press release.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the driver, identified as 36-year-old Jeremy Rigsby from Clarkson, was operating a 2001 Acura when, for reasons still unclear, the vehicle left the roadway. It struck a tree, resulting in the fatal crash. Despite efforts by emergency responders, Rigsby was pronounced dead at the scene by the Grayson County Coroner’s Office.
