Jeffrey Robert Underwood Obituary, Death News – A tragic crash occurred Friday evening on Highway 2 near North B Street in Appanoose County, Iowa, resulting in one fatality and two individuals being hospitalized. According to the Iowa Highway Patrol, the accident took place around 6:04 p.m. when a 2019 Ford F-150 traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of Highway 2 collided with a westbound 2024 Kia Telluride.

The collision led to the death of Jeffrey Robert Underwood, a 63-year-old man from Centerville, Iowa. Authorities confirmed that Underwood was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, a factor which likely contributed to the fatal outcome.

The occupants of the Kia Telluride were 59-year-old Ronald Kevin Bedford and 68-year-old Esther Lorraine Bedford, both residents of Sun City West, Arizona. The couple was injured in the crash and was transported by Centerville EMS to Mercy Centerville for medical treatment. Fortunately, the Bedfords were wearing their seat belts, which may have helped minimize the severity of their injuries.

The vehicles involved in the crash, the Ford F-150 and the Kia Telluride, were both towed from the scene by Bratz Towing. Authorities have not yet disclosed the cause of the accident, but they have indicated that the crash occurred just east of the intersection of Highway 2 and North B Street, a location that is likely a significant point of focus in the investigation. The Iowa Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding this fatal crash.
