Jayqon Bethley Obituary, Death – The Baton Rouge Police Department is currently investigating a shooting that resulted in the death of a 19-year-old man on Wednesday afternoon, April 2. The victim has been identified as Jayqon Bethley.
According to the Baton Rouge Police Department (BRPD), the incident occurred around noon in a parking lot located on Rosenwald Road. Detectives believe that Bethley was involved in an argument with two unidentified individuals before the situation escalated. At some point during the altercation, Bethley and a passenger attempted to leave the area in his vehicle.
As they were attempting to leave, one of the individuals involved in the argument fired several shots into Bethley’s vehicle. Despite being shot, Bethley managed to drive himself to a nearby hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, he later succumbed to the injuries he sustained from the gunshot wounds.
The police department is continuing to investigate the shooting and is urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward. Authorities are seeking help in identifying the individuals involved in the altercation and the subsequent shooting.
