Jason Newberry Obituary, Death – Jason Newberry, a 51-year-old cyclist, was killed in a collision in St. Petersburg on Friday afternoon. According to police, Newberry was riding an electric bicycle southbound on 59th Street South around 2:30 p.m. When he reached the intersection at 7th Avenue South, he reportedly failed to stop at the stop sign and collided with the passenger side of a westbound Jeep Compass.

The impact threw Newberry from his bike; he was not wearing a helmet at the time. Emergency responders transported him to a nearby hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries later that evening. The incident is currently under investigation.
