According to the initial investigation, a 2005 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was heading north on US 221 when it collided with another motorcycle, a 2018 Harley-Davidson, which was also traveling in the same direction. The collision caused the 2005 motorcycle to lose control and veer into the opposite lane of traffic.
While crossing into the southbound lane, the 2005 Harley-Davidson’s passenger, Janice Pritchard, was struck by a 2017 Honda sedan traveling in the opposite direction. The impact proved fatal, and Pritchard was pronounced dead at the scene by responding officials.
The driver of the 2005 motorcycle was injured in the crash and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries has not been disclosed at this time. Meanwhile, the drivers of both the 2018 Harley-Davidson motorcycle and the 2017 Honda sedan were not injured in the incident.
