Jamarcus Lett Obituary, Death – The motorcyclist killed in a crash in Lakewood last week has been identified as 24-year-old Jamarcus Lett, according to the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office. Lett tragically passed away from blunt-force trauma to the neck on December 11, 2023, after being involved in a collision near the intersection of South 84th Street and Pine Street South. The manner of death was determined to be an accident.

Authorities responded to the scene of the crash around 1 p.m. and arrived to find a motorcycle on fire. The collision occurred when a vehicle, traveling east on 84th Street South, attempted a left turn to head north. The vehicle struck Lett’s motorcycle, which was heading west. First responders quickly arrived and performed CPR on Lett, but he was ultimately pronounced dead due to the severity of his injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle was hospitalized with non-serious injuries. While authorities are still investigating the crash, it is possible that speed may have played a role in the incident, according to Lakewood Police Department spokesperson Sgt. Charles Porche. He indicated that further investigation and follow-up would be needed to confirm whether speed was a contributing factor to the crash.

The case remains under investigation, and additional updates from Lakewood Police are expected as they continue to analyze the circumstances surrounding the crash.
