Jacob R. Cummins Obituary, Death – A man was discovered dead in his vehicle on Sunday morning after emergency dispatchers received a call reporting a wrecked car lying in a drainage ditch. The incident took place around 8:30 a.m., prompting a response from local emergency crews.
Upon arrival, they found 26-year-old Jacob R. Cummins from Princeton, Kentucky, inside the vehicle. According to authorities, Cummins was traveling south on Highway 814 when his car began to swerve erratically between both sides of the road. At some point, his vehicle veered off the road and overturned, ending up in a drainage ditch near the intersection of Cutoff Road and Rabbit Ridge Road.
An investigation into the crash revealed that Cummins had lost control of his vehicle, and his erratic driving eventually led to the fatal accident. Despite the swift response from emergency services, Cummins was pronounced dead at the scene by officials from the Hopkins County Coroner’s Office.
Several emergency agencies were involved in the response to the crash, including personnel from the Hopkins and Webster County Sheriff’s Offices, Providence Police and Fire Departments, the Nebo Volunteer Fire Department, and Med Center Ambulance Services. These agencies worked together to manage the scene and assist with the investigation into the cause of the crash.
