Israel Uriegas Obituary, Death: Man fatally shot at Northeast Side apartment ID’d by medical examiner

Israel Uriegas Obituary, Death – The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the man who was fatally shot at a San Antonio apartment complex over the weekend as 38-year-old Israel Uriegas. Officials confirmed that Uriegas died from at least one gunshot wound and ruled his death a homicide.
According to a preliminary report from the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD), the incident occurred early on July 5 at an apartment complex located in the 2400 block of Northeast Loop 410, near Perrin Beitel. At the time of the shooting, Uriegas was sitting inside a vehicle with a woman.
Police said that a suspect approached the vehicle and attempted to open one of the doors. Moments later, the suspect opened fire, striking Uriegas multiple times. Officers reported that Uriegas was found dead between two vehicles at the scene.
The woman who was with Uriegas told police that the shooter fled the area in an unknown direction. No arrests have been made as of now, and the investigation remains active.
On Wednesday afternoon, SAPD issued a news release in collaboration with Crime Stoppers, announcing a reward of up to \$5,000 for any information that leads to an arrest in the case. Authorities also classified the case as a capital murder investigation in the updated statement.
