Gerald Edgman Obituary, Death News: MNPD identifies man who died in Interstate 40 East crash.

Gerald Edgman Obituary, Death News – The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) has identified the victim of a fatal crash on Interstate 40 East that occurred on Friday morning. According to initial reports from the MNPD, the collision involved two vehicles and took place around 9:15 a.m. near McCrory Lane, just before a construction zone on the interstate.

Investigators believe that the driver of a Ford F-150 pickup truck slowed down due to the upcoming construction zone. As the truck reduced speed, a Toyota Camry, driven by 73-year-old Gerald Edgman of Paris, Tennessee, collided with the back of the truck. The impact caused Edgman’s Camry to flip over.

Both Edgman and his passenger, who was in the Camry at the time of the crash, were rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment. Unfortunately, Edgman later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The passenger sustained injuries, but they were not considered life-threatening.

The driver of the Ford F-150, a 46-year-old man, was unharmed in the incident. MNPD investigators noted that there was no evidence to suggest that either driver was impaired at the time of the crash. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
