Firaol Merbratu Obituary, Death: Pedestrian Fatally Hit by Car Near Shakopee

Firaol Merbratu Obituary, Death – A fatal accident occurred near Shakopee early Friday morning when a pedestrian was struck by an SUV.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the incident took place around 6:00 a.m. on Highway 169. Nicole Rogers, a 45-year-old driver from Jordan, was traveling south when she noticed a stalled vehicle on the right shoulder. In response, she moved into the left lane, where she unintentionally hit 25-year-old Firaol Merbratu of Marshall, who was standing in the roadway.
Merbratu died at the scene due to the impact. Rogers and her passenger, 30-year-old Elizabeth Estes, were not injured in the crash. Authorities noted that alcohol was a factor on Merbratu’s part in the incident.
The Minnesota State Patrol is continuing its investigation into the crash.
