Katherine Nix Obituary, Death – Authorities have confirmed that an elderly woman who was the subject of a Silver Alert over the weekend was found dead following a crash near Arcadia Lake. Edmond police reported that a passerby walking their dog made the discovery around 10 a.m. on Wednesday. The individual spotted a wrecked vehicle in the tree line north of the swim beach and immediately called 911.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the body of a woman just outside the vehicle. She was later identified as 89-year-old Katherine Nix. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol had issued a Silver Alert for Nix on Sunday at the request of the Moore Police Department after she had been reported missing.
Investigators are now working to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash. At this time, authorities have not released details on how long the vehicle had been at the scene or what may have caused the accident. The investigation remains ongoing.
