The incident occurred on April 20. According to police reports, officers were patrolling near Green Street at approximately 1:40 a.m. when they were approached by a witness. The individual informed the officers that they had discovered a teenager lying unresponsive on the ground.

Upon investigating, police found the teen with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was later identified as Ethan Warda, a 17-year-old resident of Northbrook. Authorities confirmed that Warda died as a result of his injuries at the scene.
