Eric A. Scotton – A 33-year-old inmate, identified as Eric A. Scotton, was found deceased in his cell following an alleged assault at the Oahu Community Correctional Center early Wednesday, as reported by the state Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. In response, the state Department of Law Enforcement has initiated a first-degree murder investigation.
The Honolulu Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division-Homicide Detail, along with the Scientific Investigation Section, provided assistance during the initial on-site investigation; however, the case falls under the jurisdiction of the Department of Law Enforcement.
The investigation by the state is currently ongoing.
