Pastor: ‘We cannot conceal and alter Hopewell’
A Facebook post from the pastor of Beacon Hill Church, situated in downtown Hopewell, has identified Williams as homeless. “The children we serve at [Harry E. James Elementary School] were just returning home from school, and many of them had to witness or hear the events unfold,” Michael Moore wrote. “Simultaneously, my phone has been inundated with messages from individuals who minister to the unsheltered, as well as from the unsheltered themselves, wanting to inform me or reassure me of their safety.”
Moore expressed that this tragedy motivates him and the church to enhance their outreach efforts for the unsheltered. “We cannot conceal and alter Hopewell,” he stated. “We must confront the darkness with the gospel of Jesus Christ.”
