Elijah Bolen Obituary, Death – A tragic crash on Sunday, April 27, in Wayne County claimed the life of one teenager and left another seriously injured. The fatal accident took place at the intersection of Kentucky 90 and Highway 1546.
The deceased was identified as 18-year-old Elijah Bolen. His older brother, 19-year-old Seth Bolen, was also involved in the crash, sustaining injuries along with another individual. Kentucky State Police are leading the investigation into the crash. Initial reports indicate that Seth Bolen was driving a 2008 Cadillac when he attempted to turn onto Kentucky 90 from Highway 1546. Unfortunately, his vehicle collided with an oncoming truck. Elijah, who was a passenger in the Cadillac, was ejected from the car during the impact.
Despite efforts from first responders, Elijah was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Seth, along with the truck driver, was airlifted to a hospital in Lexington for treatment. The condition of the truck driver was reported to be stable, as they were eventually released from the hospital. Seth Bolen’s medical status, however, has not been disclosed.
Wayne County High School, where the Bolen brothers were students, is offering support to the community following the tragedy. Principal Renee Kennett shared that the senior class is planning a memorial for Elijah, while counselors were available at the school to help students cope with the loss. The crash has deeply affected the school, as both brothers were well-known and well-liked among their peers.
Authorities have stated that toxicology reports for both drivers are pending, as is standard procedure for fatal accidents. This investigation is ongoing, and further details are expected once the results are completed.
