Dustin McConnell Obituary, Death – A man involved in a serious vehicle crash in Anderson County has died from his injuries, according to the local coroner’s office. Authorities say the incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon, just after 2:30 p.m., when Anderson County 911 received a report of a collision on Due West Highway near Trail Road. Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene and found that a sedan had crossed over the center line of the highway and collided with a large enclosed trailer being towed by a truck.

The driver of the sedan, who was critically injured in the crash, received medical treatment at the scene before being airlifted to Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital. Despite medical efforts, the man passed away the following day, Thursday, at 4:45 p.m.

The Anderson County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as 30-year-old Dustin McConnell.

An investigation into the cause of the crash is currently ongoing and is being led by both the Anderson County Coroner’s Office and the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office. At this time, officials have not released further details about what caused McConnell to veer into oncoming traffic or whether weather or road conditions may have played a role.
