Derrick Purcell Ahmad McDonald Obituary, Death News – A shooting in Severn on Tuesday evening resulted in two fatalities and left two others injured, according to authorities. Police believe the attack was deliberate rather than a random act of violence, but investigators have yet to identify a suspect.
Victims Identified
The Anne Arundel County Police Department identified the two deceased victims as 23-year-old Derrick Purcell Ahmad McDonald of Severn and 28-year-old Mack Samuel Galloway III of Glen Burnie.
McDonald was pronounced dead at the scene, while Galloway was transported to the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Incident Details
The shooting occurred around 7 p.m. in the 8100 block of Meade Village Road. Shortly after the incident, police discovered a vehicle near Pioneer Drive and Jacobs Road, occupied by two individuals believed to be involved in the shooting.
One of the occupants, a passenger, had sustained a gunshot wound and was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore. His injuries were not life-threatening, and he is expected to recover. The driver of the vehicle was unharmed.
A separate adult male victim was also injured during the shooting, though he was not struck by a bullet. Police said he may have been hurt by a metal fragment caused by the gunfire. Medics transported him to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where he, too, is expected to survive.

Detectives and the Evidence Collection Unit processed the crime scene, recovering multiple items of evidentiary value. Several witnesses were interviewed as part of the investigation. However, police have not yet determined a motive for the shooting.
