Deandre Luckey Obituary, Death News – A man who was fatally shot on December 29 in south Lansing has been identified as 36-year-old Deandre Luckey. According to police, Luckey was one of two individuals shot during the incident, which took place in the 900 block of Belle Chase Boulevard, near the intersection of Jolly and Dunckel roads.
The Lansing Police Department revealed Luckey’s name on Tuesday but did not provide any new details about the ongoing investigation. Officers were initially called to the area after reports of a shooting and discovered two men with gunshot wounds. Luckey was transported to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The second victim, a 25-year-old man, was expected to survive his injuries.
At the time of the incident, police detained a “person of interest” and recovered several firearms from the scene. It remains unclear why authorities delayed releasing Luckey’s name for two weeks following the shooting.
