Dawnielle Rhodes Obituary, Death – A tragic car accident in Elmore County on Friday evening claimed the life of a young woman from Wetumpka and left three others injured, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).

The crash occurred around 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Fern Road and Ceasarville Road, approximately one mile south of Holtville. Dawnielle Rhodes, 24, was driving a 2010 Nissan Altima when it collided with a 1998 Dodge Ram pickup truck. Authorities reported that Rhodes was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision. She sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second woman, who was a passenger in Rhodes’s vehicle, suffered injuries and was transported to Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery for medical care. Officials did not release further details about the extent of her injuries.

The driver of the Dodge Ram also sustained injuries and was taken to the same hospital for treatment. ALEA has not disclosed their current condition.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division. No further information has been provided regarding the events leading up to the collision or whether other factors, such as speed or impairment, played a role.

This devastating accident highlights the importance of road safety and the use of seat belts. Troopers continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash to provide answers and help prevent similar incidents in the future.
