David R. Freeman – A 72-year-old man from Demopolis, identified as David R. Freeman, was killed in a tragic crash on January 9, 2025, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA). Freeman was behind the wheel of a 2016 GMC Sierra pickup truck when the accident occurred on Alabama Highway 28 in Marengo County. The crash took place around 9:40 a.m. and involved Freeman’s vehicle colliding with a 2019 Mack tractor-trailer.

The truck was being driven by a 67-year-old man from Thomasville, whose name has not been disclosed. Authorities report that Freeman, unfortunately, did not survive the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. The location of the incident was approximately four miles west of Linden, Alabama.

Troopers from the ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division have launched an investigation into the crash, although the cause of the collision has yet to be determined.
