David Allen Tubb, Pedro A. Flores-Gonzalez Obituary, Death – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is investigating a fatal crash that claimed the lives of two semi-truck drivers in Ward County last weekend.

Crash Details

The accident occurred around 10:12 a.m. on March 1 on FM 1776, about two miles south of Stockton Avenue. When troopers arrived, they found two semi-trucks had collided.

According to investigators, 59-year-old David Allen Tubb of Conroe, Texas, was driving a semi-truck northeast on FM 1776. At the same time, another vehicle was traveling southwest at a reduced speed and was partially on the roadway, coming to a stop.

Behind this slow-moving vehicle was another semi-truck driven by 59-year-old Pedro A. Flores-Gonzalez of Florida. As he attempted to slow down, Flores-Gonzalez veered into the northeast lane and crashed into Tubb’s oncoming truck.

Fatal Outcome and Ongoing Investigation

Both drivers suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene. The DPS continues to investigate the circumstances leading up to the crash, including whether road conditions, speed, or other factors played a role.

This tragic incident serves as a reminder for drivers to stay alert and maintain safe distances, especially when traveling near large commercial vehicles. Authorities urge motorists to exercise caution on rural highways where visibility and stopping distances can be challenging.
