Dashawn Cotton Obituary, Death – A 17-year-old girl is facing a murder charge after allegedly fatally stabbing her 19-year-old boyfriend, authorities reported.
According to the Toledo Police Department, the incident occurred Wednesday evening. Officers were called to the scene around 7:30 p.m. after receiving a report about a stabbing. When they arrived, they found 19-year-old Dashawn Cotton suffering from a stab wound.
Emergency responders transported Cotton to a nearby hospital, but despite medical efforts, he later died from his injuries. The victim’s death has since been confirmed by police.
Following an investigation, officers determined that the person responsible for the stabbing was Cotton’s girlfriend. Due to her age — 17 years old — authorities have not released her name publicly. She was taken into custody soon after the incident and is now facing a charge of murder.
Police have not yet provided further details about what led to the stabbing or the nature of the argument, if any, that may have occurred between the couple before the fatal encounter.
