Dario Stubbs, Shamone Duncan Obituary, Death – An Illinois deputy was tragically killed in a shooting incident while vacationing in Turks and Caicos with her family over the weekend, according to authorities.

Shamone Duncan, aged 50, was in Turks and Caicos with friends and family to commemorate her sister’s birthday, as shared by her sister, Eshawn Spencer, in an interview with NBC Chicago.

While enjoying dinner together, Duncan and her siblings mistook the sound of gunfire for fireworks, as reported by NBC Chicago.

Duncan was one of three individuals injured by an unidentified assailant near a well-known restaurant around 10 p.m. local time on Saturday, as stated in a media release from the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force. Both Duncan and 30-year-old Dario Stubbs succumbed to their injuries, while a third individual, a 29-year-old man, is currently receiving medical care.

“I would like to express my heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the victims. The RT&CIPF will continue to offer support resources to those affected by these tragic events,” the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force stated. “We denounce this violence and remain committed to apprehending those responsible for this heinous act.”

The RTCIPF indicated that there is no evidence to suggest that Duncan, Stubbs, or the third individual were specifically targeted. The investigation is ongoing.
