Damarcus Alexander Porter Obituary, Death – A tragic two-vehicle crash in Spartanburg County has now claimed a second life, as authorities confirm the passing of a 20-year-old woman who was critically injured in the accident.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol reports that the crash took place on the night of March 9, just before 11 p.m., along Reidville Road near Highway 417. Investigators say a car heading westbound collided head-on with a minivan that was traveling in the opposite direction.
The driver of the car, 45-year-old Damarcus Alexander Porter, of Woodruff, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, three people inside the minivan were rushed to the hospital for emergency medical treatment.
Several days later, on March 15, one of the minivan passengers, 20-year-old Lillian Mae Garner, succumbed to her injuries at Spartanburg Medical Center, according to the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office.
Authorities have not released further details about the condition of the two other minivan occupants or the factors that led to the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
