Cortez George Obituary, Death – A deadly shooting following Hal’s St. Paddy’s Parade in Jackson claimed the life of a 21-year-old man, authorities confirmed.
Hinds County Interim Coroner Jeramiah Howard identified the victim as Cortez George, who died Saturday from multiple gunshot wounds. The shooting took place near the intersection of Lamar and Pearl Streets, an area still crowded with thousands of people celebrating after the parade.
In addition to George’s death, multiple others sustained injuries in the incident. However, officials have not yet released an exact number of those wounded. The injured victims were transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center for treatment. Their conditions remain unknown at this time.
