Corinne Abosamra Obituary, Death: Police identify woman discovered dead after storage unit blaze.
Corinne Abosamra Obituary, Death – A fire at a Kentwood storage facility led to the discovery of a woman’s body, authorities said. The Kentwood Police Department has identified the deceased as 33-year-old Corinne Abosamra, who was originally from the Ann Arbor area.
The fire broke out on the night of November 7 at Broadmoor Self-Storage, located near Broadmoor Avenue SE and E Paris Avenue SE. Firefighters arrived to find smoke emanating from several storage units within the same building. They quickly extinguished the blaze but discovered Abosamra’s body in one of the units.
Investigators determined that the fire originated in the unit where Abosamra was found. However, due to the damage caused by the fire, they have been unable to determine its cause. The medical examiner’s report is pending, and police have refrained from providing additional details as the investigation continues.
Authorities are treating the death as suspicious, citing the unusual circumstances of finding a body inside a storage unit. Captain Jason Roelofs previously explained that detectives are working to establish whether foul play was involved or if the case might reflect past incidents where individuals had been living in storage units in the area.
The investigation remains active, and police are seeking to rule out all potential causes surrounding the fire and Abosamra’s death.
