Cordae Cory Swan Obituary, Death News: Coroner identifies teen killed in Harrisburg shooting.
Cordae Cory Swan Obituary, Death News – The Dauphin County Coroner’s Office has identified the teenager who was fatally shot near North 18th and Carnation Streets earlier this week as 19-year-old Cordae Cory Swan of Harrisburg. Authorities responded to the scene around 12:15 a.m. on Monday, January 13, where they found Swan with a gunshot wound to the head. The coroner ruled his death a homicide due to the gunshot wound.
Police have yet to announce any suspects or motives in connection with Swan’s death. Neighbors reported that just before the shooting, two masked men in black descended from Whitehall Street on the north side, while two other masked men approached from Regina Street on the south. Two of the gunmen ran onto a porch and opened fire on Swan, while the other two hid behind parked cars and continued shooting at him. Witnesses heard 20 to 25 gunshots during the incident.
Swan’s death was one of three homicides in Harrisburg within four days. The other victims include Franklin R. Lee, a 64-year-old man shot in his home on Walnut Street, and Candy J. Gibson, a 57-year-old woman shot in her home on Hummel Street. Police are investigating potential gang-related connections between Swan’s killing and Gibson’s, though Gibson was not believed to be the intended target in her case.
No charges have been filed in any of the three homicide cases as the investigations continue.
