Consuelo Kerr Obituary, Death – Authorities have released the names of both the victim and the suspect involved in a fatal domestic-related shooting that ended with police returning fire in Middletown on Sunday. According to the Butler County Coroner’s Office, the woman who was shot and killed was 53-year-old Consuelo Kerr. The suspect, identified as her husband, Ronald Kerr, 60, also died in the incident after being shot by police.

The situation unfolded around 4:45 p.m. on Mohawk Street, where Middletown police were dispatched following a report that a woman had been shot by her spouse. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Consuelo Kerr had already been shot.

Police said they attempted to negotiate with Ronald Kerr, but during the standoff, he fired a shot. In response, officers returned fire, striking the man. Ronald Kerr later died from the injuries he sustained in the police shooting.

According to Dan Hils of Frontline Advisors, none of the responding officers were injured during the exchange of gunfire.

Doorbell camera footage obtained by FOX19 NOW reportedly captured the sounds of the gunfire during the standoff, providing a glimpse into the chaotic moments before and during the police response.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) has taken over the investigation into the officer-involved shooting. Authorities are asking anyone with information or additional footage to contact BCI at 855-224-6446.

This tragic incident highlights the dangers surrounding domestic violence situations and the risk law enforcement faces in such tense and unpredictable encounters. Investigators will continue to gather evidence and review the timeline to determine the full circumstances of the deadly confrontation.
