Christopher Granados, Justin Cruz Obituary, Death – The three teenagers who tragically lost their lives in a high-speed police chase that ended in a crash in northwest Harris County on January 2 have been identified. The victims are Christopher Granados, 14, Justin Cruz, 16, and Alexander Romero, 16. According to Justin Elbert, Executive Director of Communications for Klein Independent School District (ISD), Christopher Granados attended Klein Oak High School, while Alexander Romero and Justin Cruz were students at Klein Collins High School.

As the families of the victims prepare for funeral services, the local community has come together in support, organizing fundraising efforts to help ease the financial burden. So far, over 100 people have donated to the campaigns, raising more than $6,000 in total.

A GoFundMe campaign set up by Emely Palma, Justin Cruz’s cousin, has already raised $3,000 toward its $6,000 goal. Palma described Cruz as a hardworking, kindhearted individual who was always caring toward everyone he met. Cruz’s funeral service is scheduled for January 12 at Iglesia Cristiana Un Nuevo Comienzo en Cristo. The public is invited to pay their respects, starting at 6 p.m.

In addition, Lesly Rivas organized a GoFundMe campaign to help Christopher Granados’s family, particularly his parents and older brothers, with funeral expenses. In her campaign description, Rivas expressed gratitude for any donations, stating that “Anything is appreciated, thank you so much.”

A separate fundraising effort was initiated by Cristina Romero, Alexander Romero’s mother, to assist in covering funeral costs. The campaign has raised $1,592 of its $14,000 target. Cristina described her son as hardworking and kindhearted, explaining that the family is not only struggling with their emotional loss but also facing the financial strain of funeral costs. She shared that Alexander’s tragic accident left his parents, older sister, and younger brother with only memories of him. While the exact details of Alexander’s funeral service have not yet been confirmed, the GoFundMe page notes that the service will be held on January 12.

The three teenagers were involved in the tragic accident during a police chase, which led to the fatal crash. The incident has left their families devastated, and the community continues to show its support through the fundraising campaigns. Despite the immense grief, the outpouring of donations reflects the deep impact the young lives had on their peers, teachers, and loved ones. The families are focusing on memorializing their children while receiving comfort from the community’s generosity during this difficult time.
