Upon arrival at the scene, Brownsville police determined that the motorcyclist, identified as 30-year-old Christian Jay Guerra, had crashed into the rear of an SUV. Guerra suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Following an investigation, officials ruled that the SUV driver was not at fault and would not be facing any criminal charges.

The Cameron County District Attorney’s Office used the incident as a reminder for motorists and motorcyclists to prioritize safety on the road.
