In the southbound lanes, a 22-year-old man from Stamford was driving a Honda Accord in the right lane. As the Honda Civic crossed into these lanes, the Honda Accord struck the passenger side of the Civic.
A passenger in the Honda Civic, 14-year-old Chloe Alyssa Ramsubhag from Waterbury, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Honda Civic, a 37-year-old man, sustained serious injuries and was transported to St. Vincent Hospital for treatment.
After the crash, the driver of the Honda Accord reportedly fled the scene. However, authorities soon located the vehicle and discovered that the driver had called to report a similar accident in the same area. It was later confirmed that the Honda Accord was involved in the incident. The driver, whose identity has not been released, was found at Griffin Hospital with injuries that have not been specified.
