Arlington firefighters quickly worked to extinguish the fire and later found the deceased victim inside the burned car.
Investigators determined that the victim’s car had been stopped on the shoulder of the highway when it was rear-ended by a Ford F-150 pickup truck. The force of the collision caused the victim’s vehicle to crash into a concrete barrier, which ultimately led to it catching fire.
Eyewitnesses at the scene reported seeing three men exit the pickup truck and flee on foot. Officers pursued and later detained all three individuals.
