According to the Virginia State Police (VSP), troopers responded to the scene after receiving reports of a shooting involving two vehicles traveling on the highway. Authorities identified the victim as 40-year-old Calvin W. Carter Jr., from Henrico, who suffered gunshot wounds. He was transported to VCU Medical Center in critical condition.
