Deputies were dispatched to the 44000 block of St. Andrews Church Road near Pops Way in California, Maryland, following a report of a crash. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a 2018 Hyundai Elantra had veered off the roadway and collided with a concrete barrier.
The driver, identified as 76-year-old Calvin Coolidge Edwards Jr., was found unresponsive and not breathing inside the vehicle. Despite immediate life-saving efforts by first responders, Edwards was pronounced dead at the scene.
