Cady G. Travis Obituary, Death News – A fatal two-vehicle crash occurred Monday morning in Mitchell County, Kansas, resulting in one death and serious injuries to another individual. The Kansas Highway Patrol reported the crash around 6:50 p.m. on K-14 highway, approximately five miles north of Beloit.
According to the investigation, a 2010 Toyota Tundra, driven by Christopher J. Herz, 39, of Burr Oak, was heading north on K-14 when it crossed the center line. The Toyota collided with a southbound 2008 Ford Escape driven by Cady G. Travis, 44, of Jewell. Tragically, Travis was pronounced dead at the scene. The Kansas Highway Patrol noted that Travis was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
Herz sustained serious injuries and was transported to Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit. Authorities stated that Herz was not wearing a seat belt during the incident. Both drivers were alone in their respective vehicles when the crash happened.
The collision is under investigation as officials work to determine the cause of the Toyota crossing into oncoming traffic.
