Bonita G. Metcalf Obituary, Death – A fatal crash on Asheville Highway in Greene County early Wednesday morning claimed the life of one person and left three others injured, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP). The crash occurred around 6:10 a.m. and involved three vehicles.

The THP’s preliminary investigation revealed that a Mercury Grand Marquis, driven by 67-year-old Bonita G. Metcalf, was traveling north on Asheville Highway. Metcalf slowed down to make a turn onto Cove Creek Road when the vehicle was rear-ended by a Ford F-150. The impact of the collision caused the Mercury to cross over into the opposite lane, where it was struck head-on by a southbound Chevrolet Silverado.

Metcalf, who was driving the Mercury, was pronounced dead at the scene. The three individuals in the Chevrolet Silverado sustained injuries but were not reported to have life-threatening conditions. The driver of the Ford F-150 is facing pending charges, as the THP continues to investigate the circumstances of the crash.

The incident is under investigation, and authorities are working to determine the cause of the rear-end collision and whether other factors contributed to the fatal crash.
