Blake Ackerman Obituary, Death: Medical examiner identifies bicyclist killed in hit-and-run crash.

Blake Ackerman Obituary, Death – A 27-year-old man who died in a hit-and-run crash in West Hollywood has been identified as Blake Ackerman, according to the Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s Office.
The incident happened around 9:45 p.m. on Thursday at the intersection of Fountain Avenue and Gardner Street, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau reported. Authorities said Ackerman was riding his bicycle westbound on Fountain Avenue when he was struck from behind by a white, older-model BMW sedan that was also heading west.
Investigators believe the BMW sustained a broken windshield on the passenger side during the collision. Despite the damage and the severity of the incident, the driver of the BMW did not stop to render aid and fled the scene.
Emergency responders transported Ackerman to a hospital, but he was later pronounced dead as a result of his injuries.
At this time, it remains unclear whether alcohol or drugs contributed to the crash. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has not released further details about the driver or the vehicle, but they continue to search for leads.
Investigators are urging anyone with information about the incident or the suspect vehicle to contact traffic investigators at the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station at 310-855-8850.
The community is now mourning the loss of Ackerman, who was simply riding his bike when his life was tragically cut short. Authorities hope that someone will come forward to help bring justice in the case, especially given the hit-and-run nature of the crash.
