Armontye Alexander Obituary, Death: Officials identify worker fatally shot at Austin grocery store.

Armontye Alexander Obituary, Death – On Tuesday morning, a man was fatally shot on the West Side of the city, as reported by officials. The incident occurred around 11:35 a.m. at the Sanford Foods grocery store located in the 500-block of Laramie Avenue, according to the Chicago police. Authorities stated that at least one assailant entered the store and shot a 32-year-old man in both the head and chest.
The victim was subsequently transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, as confirmed by the police. 37th Ward Alderwoman Emma Mitts indicated that the victim was an employee of the grocery store. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office identified him as Armontye Alexander, aged 32. Mitts remarked that the shooting seemed to be a targeted attack.
‘This is utterly unacceptable, and it must come to an end. Each year, far too many residents of Chicago fall victim to various violent street-related incidents,’ Mitts stated. The Chicago police have reported that no suspects are currently in custody.
‘I extend my heartfelt condolences, blessings, and sympathy to the family, friends, and colleagues mourning the senseless loss of their valued individual,’ Mitts expressed.
