Antwan Bluthenthal Obituary, Death: Man fatally shot at Gaslamp Quarter bar identified by San Diego Police.

Antwan Bluthenthal Obituary, Death – A 46-year-old man who was fatally shot at a bar in San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter on Sunday evening has been identified as Antwan Bluthenthal, a local resident, according to the San Diego Police Department.
The incident occurred on August 3 at around 5:18 p.m., when dispatchers received several 911 calls reporting a shooting on the third floor of a bar located in the 700 block of Sixth Avenue. Responding officers quickly arrived and found a group of people detaining the suspected shooter, 27-year-old Bryan Tyner, on the sidewalk in front of the bar. Witnesses pointed him out as the gunman and also handed over a firearm they said had been recovered from him.
Police then entered the building and discovered Bluthenthal in the third-floor hallway. He had sustained at least one gunshot wound. Officers attempted life-saving measures at the scene, but Bluthenthal ultimately died from his injuries.
Tyner was taken into custody and later booked into San Diego County Jail on a murder charge.
Further investigation revealed that both the victim and suspect had been at the Cielo Rooftop Lounge, a bar located on the fifth floor of the building. The third floor, where the shooting occurred, is where the elevator to the rooftop is located. A comedy club is also situated on that floor, but it was reportedly closed at the time of the shooting. The building also houses another establishment, Mr. Tempo, a bar on the first floor that shares access to the same elevator.
Authorities say that Bluthenthal and Tyner did not previously know each other. The shooting is believed to have followed a physical altercation between the two men, though the cause of the dispute remains under investigation.
Tyner is scheduled to appear in court for his arraignment on Wednesday.
San Diego Police are urging anyone who may have information about the shooting to contact their Homicide Unit at (619) 531-2293. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through Crime Stoppers by calling (888) 580-8477.
The investigation remains active as officials continue to gather details about the events leading up to the fatal shooting.
