Antonio Kasey James, Ja’Calvin Demond Ball Obituary, Death – Nearly a month after two men were found murdered in a burning car in northeast Birmingham, the victims have been officially identified. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office released their names on Tuesday, revealing the men as 20-year-old Antonio Kasey James from Pinson and 20-year-old Ja’Calvin Demond Ball from Bessemer.

The gruesome discovery occurred on Tuesday morning, October 29, in the 1600 block of 90th Place North, located in the Airport Highlands area of the Airport Hills community. At approximately 8 a.m., Birmingham firefighters responded to a report of smoke in a wooded area. Upon arrival, they found a sedan fully engulfed in flames. After extinguishing the fire, they discovered the bodies of two men inside the vehicle. The bodies were severely burned, making immediate identification impossible.

The authorities were able to identify James through a combination of DNA and dental records. Ball was identified using DNA testing. Despite their identification, investigators have not yet released details about the cause of death, though they have confirmed that both men were victims of homicides.

As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the deaths, and authorities are continuing their investigation. They are urging anyone with information about the case to come forward.
