Angela M. Sutton, Corry Pollard Obituary, Death – On January 6, a devastating house fire in Davenport claimed the lives of three individuals. The identities of the victims have been released by authorities: 58-year-old Vance Z. Davis Sr., 59-year-old Corry Pollard, and 46-year-old Angela M. Sutton.
The tragic incident occurred shortly after 3 a.m. when Davenport firefighters were called to the 1300 block of W. 8th Street after reports of heavy smoke and flames consuming a two-story house. Firefighters arrived at the scene to find the structure fully engulfed in flames. Despite their efforts, three individuals tragically lost their lives in the blaze.
Davenport fire officials have not yet determined the official cause of death. However, two other residents of the home were successfully rescued from the basement by the responding fire crew. They were taken to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries. Another individual, who was found in critical condition, was airlifted to a regional hospital for further care.
As of now, the cause of the fire remains under investigation, and authorities are working diligently to determine what led to this tragic event. The community is grieving the loss of these three individuals as authorities continue their inquiry into the incident.
