Alan Hartley Obituary, Death: SUV Driver Fatally Struck by Large Truck on Interstate 5 in Sun Valley

Alan Hartley Obituary, Death – An SUV operator was fatally struck by a large truck on the Golden State (5) Freeway in Sun Valley on Sunday. The incident took place around 9:25 a.m. on the northbound side of the freeway, close to the Sunland Boulevard off-ramp, as reported by the California Highway Patrol.

According to a caller to the CHP, a man exited the dark SUV and entered the flow of traffic.

The driver of the SUV was identified as 59-year-old Alan Hartley, as confirmed by the Medical Examiner’s office. His place of residence has not been disclosed.

A Sigalert was issued at 9:48 a.m., shutting down all lanes of the northbound freeway, but it was lifted at 1:11 p.m.
