Aidan Ray Quickbear Obituary, Death: Sioux Falls Police identify person of interest in Saturday’s fatal stabbing.

Aidan Ray Quickbear Obituary, Death – Sioux Falls police have identified the victim of a fatal stabbing that occurred early Saturday morning as 25-year-old Aidan Ray Quickbear, a Sioux Falls resident. Authorities also confirmed they have identified a person of interest in connection with the crime.

According to Sioux Falls Police Department Captain Mike Colwill, officers were dispatched to a parking lot on the 500 block of South Duluth Avenue at around 1 a.m. on Saturday after receiving reports of the stabbing. Witnesses at the scene quickly transported Quickbear to a local hospital before police arrived. Unfortunately, Quickbear later succumbed to his injuries.

This marks the 14th homicide of the year in Sioux Falls, surpassing the previous record of 13 homicides. Police spokesperson Sam Clemens acknowledged that while some of the city’s previous homicides were tied to domestic relationships, many remain unexplained. Clemens stated, “There’s really no rhyme or reason to these homicides… there’s not one common thread that we can say, ‘This is why all of these are happening.'”

Investigators have been speaking to witnesses, as well as friends and acquaintances of the victim, in an effort to piece together the circumstances surrounding Quickbear’s death. Police have also collected evidence, which is being sent to the South Dakota State Lab for analysis. Colwill expressed confidence in the investigation’s progress, stating that the department is in a “strong position” regarding the case, although no charges have been filed as of yet.

While the motive for the stabbing remains unclear, Colwill indicated that an arrest could be made in the coming days. An autopsy on Quickbear’s body was also expected to take place on Monday, which may provide additional information regarding the circumstances of his death.

Authorities continue to ask for the public’s help in providing any relevant information related to the case.
