Abraham Grant Jordan Obituary, Death – A man lost his life in a crash that occurred in Ashe County on Saturday morning, as reported by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. The incident happened around 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of Baldwin Road and Black Bear Inn Road.
According to troopers, the crash involved a 2004 Honda Element traveling southwest on Baldwin Road. The vehicle veered off the right side of the road and collided with a utility pole. Upon arrival, troopers were informed by witnesses that the driver had fled the scene and was seen running into the nearby woods.
The driver, identified as 34-year-old Abraham Grant Jordan, was later found unconscious in the wooded area. Despite efforts to save him, Jordan succumbed to the injuries sustained from the crash at a local hospital.
Troopers believe that speeding played a role in the accident. The investigation into the crash is ongoing as officials continue to gather more information.
