Samuel Harris Jr Obituary, Death – A fatal pedestrian crash occurred in St. Tammany Parish late Wednesday, Nov. 27, according to Louisiana State Police. The incident took place around 11:45 p.m. on US Highway 11 near 5th Avenue, with troopers from Troop L leading the investigation.
Preliminary findings indicate that a 2008 Nissan Titan, traveling northbound on the highway, struck 61-year-old Samuel Harris Jr. of Slidell. Harris was reportedly walking in the same lane as the vehicle when the collision occurred.
Harris sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Nissan was unharmed and was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Authorities collected routine toxicology samples from both the driver and Harris as part of the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
