Clayton D. Lenier Obituary, Death – A fatal road rage incident on Interstate 80 in New Lenox on Monday night has been confirmed to have claimed the life of a Joliet man. The Will County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 30-year-old Clayton D. Lenier.
According to authorities, Lenier was driving one of the vehicles involved in a two-car crash near the I-80 westbound entrance to I-355. The crash, believed to have been linked to the road rage incident, led to an altercation that escalated into a shooting. Lenier was fatally shot during the confrontation.
Following the shooting, the suspect fled the scene on foot. New Lenox Police later apprehended the individual, though the Illinois State Police have not yet released the suspect’s identity or further details about the circumstances leading to the shooting.
