Garcia was found lying in the road on Cedar Lane near Lincoln Place in Teaneck, New Jersey, after several 911 calls were made reporting the incident.
Teaneck police responded to the scene shortly after 7 p.m. and determined that Garcia had been struck by a vehicle that left the scene of the accident. First responders transported Garcia to Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck, where she was pronounced dead.
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation into the incident, with assistance from the local police. As of the latest updates, no arrests have been made, and the authorities are still seeking information regarding the vehicle involved in the crash.
