Michael Allen Carroll Obituary, Death – One of the two men found shot to death at an abandoned house in Birmingham’s Inglenook neighborhood has been identified as 20-year-old Michael Allen Carroll, a resident of Center Point. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office confirmed his identity on Monday.
The incident occurred on Thursday evening, when East Precinct officers responded to a shots-fired report around 6:30 p.m. in the 4400 block of 41st Place North. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man lying unresponsive in the driveway of an abandoned house. This victim, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following a search of the property, police found Carroll inside the house, where he had also suffered fatal gunshot wounds. In total, two men were discovered dead at the scene.
During the investigation, police detained three men. The first two were found at the scene: one near the abandoned house and another walking in the vicinity. Both individuals were taken into custody and placed on a 48-hour investigative hold at the Birmingham City Jail. It is unclear at this time whether any formal charges have been filed against them.
Additionally, officers recovered a stolen vehicle at the scene, which may provide further insight into the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not yet released further details on the potential motive or the identities of the other individuals involved.
As of now, the police are continuing to examine the connection between the victims, the detained suspects, and the stolen vehicle, and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
